Working with children and the vulnerable

The Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Bill, published on Wednesday (1st March), is likely to have a significant impact on those working with young people or the vulnerable. It will integrate list 99 and POCA for the children’s workforce and will also create a new list of people barred from working with vulnerable adults to replace POVA.
The government aims to roll out the new measures from 2007, with the penalties for failure to abide by the rules perhaps the greatest worry to organisations with limited resources.
