Re-engineering sector infrastructure
1st April 2006, 12:03 pm
There were some interesting comments at this week’s launch of the sector’s national hubs of expertise in Birmingham, from participants and speakers alike. One quote from NCVO’s chief exec, Stuart Etherington: “In part, this (Hubs) programme is devised to re-engineer aspects of the (sector) infrastructure”, and a deliberate strategy from NCVO, going on to say that it is crucial that there is a better relationship between national, regional and local capacity building organisations.
On the Hubs themselves, we were pleased to learn that the Finance Hub is researching existing funding advice before trying to help build on existing networks, and will also look at helping to develop a community accountancy network. Plus the new web site from the Governance Hub is now live, at http://www.governancehub.org.uk (only just, so we haven’t explored it yet). See our CharityBlog for more on the event, http://www.charityblog.org.uk.
