Strengthening the Compact
1st September 2006, 1:28 pm
John Stoker, a previous chief Charity Commissioner, has been appointed as the first Compact Commissioner. A key priority will be strengthening the Compact, the agreement between government and the sector, “championing its full implementation at every level of government to enable voluntary and community organisations to operate in effective partnerships with the broader public sector”. He takes up post on 1st October. See the Office of the Third Sector press releaseĀ for more on the Compact and this role.
