Google Co-op, part of the ever-growing Google developments, has created a ‘Custom Search Engine’ facility.

This works slightly differently from standard Google search, and allows you to restrict or focus search results to favoured web sites. This could make them more relevant or just from trusted sources - for an example we’ve set up ‘VolSearch’, at http://www.google.com/coop/cse?cx=017964569180992132266%3Actxzrmm9q-y, covering a selected range of UK voluntary sector support sites.

We haven’t spent as much time on this we’d like but please give it a whirl and even volunteer to help refine it.
