The Edge Upstarts Awards, which “recognise excellence in all aspects of social enterprise, including providing a rich learning environment for the young and disadvantaged”, are open for nominations to 18th May. Categories are Social Entrepreneur of the Year, Social Enterprise of the Year, Young Social Entrepreneur of the Year, Social Enterprise Mentor of the Year, Social Enterprise Trainee of the Year. The Beacon Prize recognises individuals who have made a significant contribution in giving time, money or skills to a specific cause. Five categories of awards (Leadership, Community Builder, New Initiatives, Creative Giving, Young Philanthropist) plus regional ones for England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
