Revisions to disciplinary and grievance procedures

Acas’s revised Code of Practice on disciplinary and grievance procedures has been approved by the Secretary of State, subject to parliamentary approval. It comes into effect on 6th April 2009, when the statutory dismissal and grievance procedures are abolished. Any tribunal awards can be increased by 25% following an unreasonable failure by an employer to follow the Code.
