Discussion paper on unincorporated associations in Scotland
13th January 2009, 3:13 pm
The Scottish Law Commission has produced a discussion paper on unincorporated associations, identifying several issues which may affect the many thousands of voluntary organisations that do not have separate legal identity (not registered as a company, for example).
Scottish umbrella SCVO is organising a number of focus groups to look at the proposals - details currently on their front page at http://www.scvo.org.uk/scvo/Home/Home.aspx. The paper can be downloaded (pdf, 861KB) from http://www.scotlawcom.gov.uk/downloads/dps/dp140.pdf.
